Solarcore® — a US advanced materials company developing aerogel-based thermal insulation — has joined our portfolio.
What caught our attention was how broadly the technology can be applied. Solarcore’s materials are already being used or evaluated across areas ranging from outdoor apparel and automotive to aerospace, defense applications and other demanding environments.
Aerogel itself isn’t new. What’s interesting is Solarcore’s approach to making it more practical, durable and scalable for real-world applications, particularly where thermal performance, weight and space matter.
There’s still plenty to prove as the company scales, but we liked the combination of interesting materials science, real commercial traction and a large range of potential applications.
